Role Overview

Lead strategic design initiatives focusing on scalable, coherent experiences across Airbase’s web and mobile products. Influence the design function’s growth by developing and evolving design systems and fostering a strong design culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Deeply understand customer pain points and organizational goals related to spend management.
• Lead design platform initiatives to create cohesive experiences across platforms.
• Develop and maintain design systems, patterns, and interaction standards.
• Collaborate strategically with engineering, product, and design teams to shape future design directions.
• Advocate for design principles, communicating rationale to foster adoption.
• Provide guidance and feedback in design reviews to maintain quality standards.
• Mentor and support growth of other designers on the team.
• Cultivate a collaborative and innovative design culture.

Qualifications & Skills:

• 10+ years of product design experience, with significant time dedicated to design system adoption and management.
• Strong experience in native mobile and responsive web design.
• Proven portfolio showing expertise in product, interaction, and visual design.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Passion for working in a growing, small-team environment.
• Proficient knowledge of HTML and CSS.
